This review is from: Suncourt HC500-W Flush Mount Heating and Air Conditioning Booster Fan, This is our second register vent. Our first one works wonderful in our daughter's room. We have had that one for about a year. Still works great! Recently, we purchased another one for our bedroom. I love how there is a setting where it only kicks on when the heat is on. It is a bit noisy, but we have an air purifier running anyway so we don't notice it. This review is from: Suncourt HC500-W Flush Mount Heating and Air Conditioning Booster Fan, I purchased this for my sons room that has a very week vent flow, his duct is the last on the basement run two floors down. The original booster I purchased was defective so I gave it 2 stars and also because of the poor design. The second unit I purchased functions, but not well. I decided to remove the air restricting plastic fan guards on the bottom of the unit(they are in the duct anyways so why do you need guards!??). After removing the plastic fan guards from the bottom, the unit is MUCH quieter, and move air MUCH better. Now the unit works as it should, it actually keeps my sons room warm! Who designs these things!? Very cool idea, but make them work well or don't make them at all! May be OK in a bedroom where you don't mind a constant noise, but even then it would probably disturb your sleep with it going on and off.
